Prologue.
April 25, 2001

I have set a record for myself, in that this is the single latest race report I have ever filed. I have been interrupted by work, life, and everything therein along the way...and I apologize for the delay of nearly 8 months. With only 4 months until I have to write another one for THIS year, I had to get it done!
When I got home last August, I knew the time to finish this would be short...so I quickly wrote down an outline of everything that I wanted to talk about in the report and put it away. Only now have I had the time to look back at the outline, and remember the trip all over again. It gave me a chance to dive into the random memories I've carried since then, and finally give them color and shape. I was able to make sense of so many things upon reflection...the wait was worth it to me, and I hope it will have been for you.
The report will be in Five (5) parts counting this Prologue, each titled...and as usual, epic and length. There's lots of detail, emotion, point-of-view thinking and being...and reflection. Print it out and bring them home. Get some coffee and read it at work. Either way, please sit down and enjoy once more...another trip down Ironman Lane through the eyes of a humble Bob.
