November
23, 1997 - Philadelphia Marathon, Philadelphia, PA
"Hi.
My name is Bob, and my problem is that I overdress for marathon
running..." Lets see; It's 45 degrees, and I'm wearing
tights, a long sleeve Coolmax(tm), AND a sleeveless jersey (which has my
windbreaker stashed in it). Needless to say, I learned my lesson
about dressing less for the distance, even when it's cold. This is
at mile 14, taken by the lovely St. Lynda Hennigan.

August
29, 1998 - Athlete's Parade, Ironman Canada, Penticton, B.C.
Have I mentioned that I juggle?
You probably knew that. This is me on Main Street, Penticton,
attempting to appease Ogopogo (the monster that lives in Okanagan Lake)
so that I might finish my first IM the next day. Looking on (L to
R) are Mike Tennant, Pete Priolo, Everett Chock, and Sean Gallagher. |

January
1, 1998 -- New Year's Ride, Jeffersonville, PA
"MMPHEE MOO
MEEEERRR!" That's me underneath all those clothes...hoisting
Phoenicia high over my head after surviving my traditional 1/1
ride. How cold was it that day? As I recall the high temp
was 22 degrees, with a windchill of about -14 if you just stood
still. My water froze within 4 miles, and if you'll notice the
complete lack of booties...my feet did the same about 1 mile later.

July
28, 2000 -- The Underpants Run, Lake Placid, NY
An
early shot as the field rolled out of town together...moving as one
tightly packed unit amidst the sounds of shoes on pavement and runners
rhythmic breathing, not to mention car horns, screaming women,
screeching tires, breaking glass, cheers, catcalls...and whirring
handicams. |
