August 23, 1997 -- New England Triathlon Festival,
Sunapee, NH
See
Bob ride (grr!)
See
Bob finish (weee!)
Why
am I smiling? I had to run a 1:20 split to make sure I had enough
time to shower, get changed, and make it to my cousins wedding at Loon
Mountain that afternoon.
I
ran a 1:18. Heh-heh!

September 28, 1997 - Philadelphia
Distance Run, Philadelphia, PA
I have
no idea what I was saying to the cameraman, but it was probably
something brilliant, engaging, witty, perfunctory, and totally worth
answering (like "How'd you get such a nice ladder?") since he
was at mile 2 or 3 as I recall.

October
26, 1997 -- The Marine Corps Marathon, Washington, D.C.
Ohhh!
Happy moment! This is at the finish line with my sister (in Pink)
and Mark Markley (not in pink, but VERY happy on the right). The
rain started right after the Howitzer fired to send us off nearly 5
hours earlier, and it never let up. 45 degrees, rainy, muddy, the
WORST weather I'd ever run in. It's been 4 years and I haven't
forgotten how cold I was. Why do I look so confused? I'm
looking for the finish line banner that deflated in the winds...and I
wasn't sure where we were supposed to stop. Those white things on
my shorts? GU Tops from my eating strategy...
