352 days.

That's how long it's been since I crossed the line at Ironman Canada 2001. This is a personal record of some kind for getting the report done and out, and I'm sorry it took so very long to get to you. The year without an IM for me brought a house, a new sense of purpose in life, and a tenuous hold on my career (for the moment). I must have started this thing 4 or 5 times along the year, and never got a chance to sit down and FINISH it.

Without further ado, the report will be presented in 5 parts. I suggest you print them, take them home, and read them someplace where you can spend enough time to get through it all. As usual it is LONG, long, oh, and long. However I think it will be worth your while - there are lots of stories and people in there, and I wanted to give them all their proper time. It's a long race - It demands a long report.

Maybe almost as much time as the real race, but not quite.

Regardless, I was determined to get this out before the 2002 Ironman Canada folks hit the road - so I hope you enjoy it!
